What's the difference between this tile and the 20mm Wood Effect Gym Flooring Tiles – Studio, Functional & Home Gym Use?
Both are 20mm rubber tiles measuring 1m x 0.5m, with a wood-effect fibre top layer bonded to a recycled rubber base, and both lock together with plastic connectors that sit underneath the tiles, so neither needs glue. This Sprung Konnecta tile comes in two oak shades (Natural Light Oak and Natural Medium Oak), is rated for a maximum weight drop of 140kg, and has matching wood-effect edge ramps and corners available. The 20mm Wood Effect Gym Flooring Tiles – Studio, Functional & Home Gym Use from Gymgear come in three colours (Oak, Dark Grey and Light Grey), weigh 8.7kg per tile and are designed for cardio, light weights, PT studios and functional training rather than heavy free-weight areas such as deadlifting or powerlifting zones. If you are not sure which suits your space, we can send free samples of both so you can compare the colours side by side.
What colours does the Konnecta Wood Effect tile come in?
Two: Natural Light Oak and Natural Medium Oak. Matching edge ramps and corners are available in both finishes. Select the colour and the piece you need (tile, edge ramp or corner) from the options above the Add to cart button.
What is the difference between the tile, the edge ramp and the corner, and how do they fit together?
The tile is the main flooring piece, 1000mm x 500mm and 20mm thick. The edge ramp (250mm x 1000mm) finishes an open edge of the floor where the tiles do not meet a wall, and the corner (250mm x 250mm) finishes the point where two edge ramps meet. Free plastic connector pieces come with the tiles: they slot into the holes on the studded underside of each tile and lock neighbouring tiles together, and the edge ramps and corners connect to the tiles with the same plastic connectors. The tiles can also be loose-laid or glued down with adhesive if you prefer.
Can I get a sample before I order?
Yes. Samples are free. Email info@motionrange.co.uk or call 0333 880 7174 with your delivery address and a contact phone number. Konnecta samples are posted by the manufacturer and can take a few days longer to reach you than our other wood-effect tile, and we will forward the tracking details when we have them.
Is this tile in stock, and how long does it take to arrive?
Stock is shown per colour and piece in the options above. Natural Medium Oak is not a stock line at the manufacturer, so it is normally supplied to order with a lead time of approximately 7–10 working days, although small quantities are often available for quicker dispatch. If a colour shows as sold out, email us and we will tell you the expected restock date.
Can I drop weights on this tile, and what training is it suitable for?
Yes, within limits: the tile is rated for a maximum weight drop of 140kg. It is suitable for functional training, free weights up to 140kg, cardio and strength work and CrossFit, in commercial gyms, home gyms and PT studios.
How many tiles do I need, can they be cut, and what floor can I lay them on?
Each tile is 1000mm x 500mm, so it covers 0.5m² and you need 2 tiles per square metre before cuts; a 13m² garage, for example, needs 26 tiles. The rubber can be cut to size with a utility knife. The sub-floor needs to be level, firm and dry; the tiles can be laid directly onto it using the connectors, loose-laid, or glued.
