Smith Machine Front Extension Bracket

The Smith Machine Rack Attachment gives you access to smooth, guided lifts from within your 4000- or 5000-series rack. For lifters who want to keep the interior of their rack open for unrestricted free-weight training, the Smith Machine Front Foot Extension Brackets offer a smart alternative — allowing you to mount the Smith Machine Attachment to the outside front of your rack.

Designed for racks between 16” and 41” deep, these brackets let you enjoy the advantages of a Smith machine without compromising full power rack functionality — including continued access to your pull-up bar. Please note: mounting the Smith Machine Rack Attachment on the front uprights is not compatible with cable systems such as Ares™ 2.0, Ares™, or Athena®, as the cable trolleys would interfere with the Smith Attachment.

Engineered to integrate cleanly with your rack and Smith Attachment, secure the Smith Machine Front Extension Brackets and Front Foot Extensions (sold separately) to the exterior uprights of your rack. This shifts the Smith Machine’s mounting point forward — maximizing interior space while maintaining stable, confidence-inspiring guided movement.

What You'll Need for Front Installation:

• PR-4000 or PR-5000
• Smith Machine Rack Attachment
• Front Foot Extensions: 1.0, 2.0, or *Mini.

*Mini Front Foot Extensions will limit the Smith Machine’s angle to 4 degrees.

Refer to the assembly guide for your FFE version to ensure the extensions face the proper direction for a front-mounted Smith machine.
