Each Tile includes 3 plastic connectors. No adhesives are needed. The recommended installation layout is a brick-style pattern.

We have made some changes to our SBR Gym Floor Tiles to now include plastic connectors that interlock each tile together. This prevents gaps from forming over time and helps with installation. We have also incorporated our shock absorbing pattern on the base, to reduce impact and noise from falling weights, as well as air and water ventilation!

Our Blue Fleck Rubber SBR (Styrene Butadiene Rubber) Gym Floor Tiles feature a structured coarse to fine granule filling. The coarse granules at the bottom of the tile allow for more shock absorption, while the top being more fine granules provides a smooth yet grippy surface.

The bottom layer of the tile is designed to be less dense, and features a unique shock absorbing pattern for improved strength and bounce when dropping heavy weights, and also offer more protection to your floor underneath the tiles.

You can lock the tiles in place with the included plastic connectors. The connectors help with installation, improve the rigidity of the tiles, and also reduces the amount the tiles move through temperature changes and general usage.

We recommend installation in the brick style pattern. This creates a more aesthetic look in the gym, and provides a more secure fitment.

20mm Thick Rubber Gym Flooring is the crucial for not only protecting the floor underneath but for noise reduction, slip prevention and preservation of the equipment being dropped or used.

Our gym floor tiles are VOC tested, the results show between no detection to low VOC emissions - the tiles are safe in indoor environments, no harmful off-gassing.

The under layer is designed to be less dense, resulting in more bounce to help protect your flooring underneath. The top layer is made from recycled SBR which is well known for it's resistance to abrasion and long lasting ability to hold its quality, the adhesive used to make these tiles is also very low odour.

Standard tolerances apply - 0.4% - 1% - Due to the way rubber tiles are manufactured, through heating and cooling processes, expansion and shrinkage can occur resulting in a tolerance up to 1% per sqm

Can I drop weights on these tiles, and will they take a heavy machine?

Yes. 20mm is the thickness Rival recommends where weights will be dropped, such as Olympic lifts, and the tiles are suitable for heavy gym equipment, free weights and strength and conditioning work. The less-dense, shock-absorbing bottom layer protects the floor underneath when weights are dropped. By comparison, 15mm tiles are best kept for static use (equipment storage and machines up to about 500kg, bench work, squats) and Rival would be reluctant to drop weights heavier than 20kg on them.

What's the difference between this tile and the Rival Blue Fleck Premium tiles?

Both are 20mm Rival tiles with the same less-dense, shock-absorbing base pattern, the same included plastic connectors (3 per tile, no adhesive) and the same 1-year warranty, and both suit free weights, strength and conditioning and CrossFit. The difference is the top layer. This SBR tile is made from recycled SBR crumb rubber with a 15% blue fleck: the granules are coarse at the bottom for shock absorption and fine at the top for a smooth but grippy surface, and it comes as a 1m x 1m tile. The Rival Blue Fleck Premium 500mm x 500mm tiles (also available as 1m x 1m) have a smooth, machined, dense EPDM top layer with blue flecks: it is easier to clean, dirt does not build up on the surface the way it can on crumb-rubber tiles, and the flecks help hide marks.
